In this campaign, we are seeking to appoint up to 3 candidates on either a part-time or full-time basis and anticipate that the successful candidates will support the regions outlined above.
A look into the role…
This role will be based within our group Human Resources team, providing direct support to our store-based retail teams in all areas of recruitment and colleague onboarding & training.
Acting as an ambassador for Henderson Retail as an employer, the purpose of this role is to attract & select the best employees to provide our valued customers with an amazing local shopping experience, whilst ensuring that our candidates have a positive application experience from beginning to end.
This role will be very well suited to a candidate who is a great communicator, has planning and organisational skills and is customer focussed. Working as Resourcing & Training Co-ordinator you will:
- Proactively work with hiring managers to plan for future workforce planning & resourcing needs. Understand the current and future hiring needs of your area to ensure we attract the best talent to support the business.
- Co-ordinate the end-to end recruitment & selection process, and assist and guide hiring managers at all stages, including:
- Drafting and placing of attractive recruitment advertisements.
- Planning candidate sourcing and advertising strategies for recruitment campaigns and implementing appropriate actions to enhance candidate attraction.
- Screening of applications and applicant shortlisting.
- Co-ordinating and scheduling candidate interviews and selection activities.
- Designing appropriate selection assessment methods for retail roles, ensuring fair and objective candidate assessment.
- Participating as a member of selection panels for interviews and other assessment activities.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and statutory provisions, including those on equality of opportunity, diversity & inclusion, throughout the recruitment cycle.
- Maintaining and updating data throughout the recruitment process using the Applicant Tracking System- Success Factors Recruiting.
- Facilitating offers of employment through to acceptance and maintaining excellent candidate care for both successful and unsuccessful candidates.
- Ensuring efficient and effective follow up and communication with candidates from initial contact to start date.
- Working closely with the HR team to ensure new starter information is provided promptly and accurately.
- Acting as a point of contact for Hiring Managers and HR Department in relation to recruitment queries.
- Offer support and guidance (and when required, training) to managers on selection techniques and best practice relating to recruitment and selection.
- Promote Henderson Group as an employer of choice by taking part in outreach initiatives- representing Henderson Group at events such as careers events, jobs fairs and school/ college/ community employment activities.
- Influence employee retention by supporting an effective onboarding experience for new recruits.
- Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers to the business.
- Contribute great ideas for resourcing and process improvement.
Skills for Success
Joining us as Resourcing & Training Co-ordinator, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
- Good standard of education (including GCSE Maths & English at grade C or above or equivalent).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate – able to access and use MS Office applications, Internet, MS Outlook.
- Experience of working and performing in a fast-paced environment.
- As role will require travel to our retail sites across NI, a current driving license and use of a car is essential (mileage reimbursed).
The Attributes you’ll need include:
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with ability to work to deadlines.
- Adaptable and resourceful- Able to work evening / weekend shifts as and when required.
- Understanding the requirements of working in a confidential environment, exercising discretion and working with integrity at all times.
- Ability to deliver at pace, while maintaining accuracy and great service levels.
It is desirable if you have:
- Previous experience participating on interview panels and/ or co-ordinating recruitment campaigns.
- Knowledge of Employment/ Equal Opportunities legislation.
- Previous experience working in a retail environment would be advantageous.
- A track record of working successfully within an administrative role.
- Previous experience in a training capacity, including delivering induction or other retail training.
- Experience of measuring and influencing successful e-learning completion.
