We have an exciting opportunity to join Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as part of our stroke rehabilitation team.
We are please to announce that we have new Therapy Assistant Practitioner posts available within our teams. The service supports delivery of high-quality care and rehabilitation across the stroke pathway.
Roles will be based in either the inpatient setting at Bradford Royal Infirmary covering both acute stroke and stroke/neurology rehabilitation wards, or in community setting working in a mixture of settings including outpatient clinics, gym and patients’ homes.
We are looking for motivated, driven and dynamic individuals, with experience in a health or social care setting as a therapy assistant, an interest in the area of stroke rehabilitation and a commitment to personal development to join our stroke rehabilitation team.
They will be expected to identify and support patients physical and cognitive limitations, and their functional problems to support the therapy team to deliver routine assessments and rehabilitation. There will be a requirement to develop strong links with the multidisciplinary team working in both the acute and community settings.
To deliver a high standard of health care supporting both Occupational therapists and Physiotherapists, together with the wider MDT, to assess, plan and implement a range of therapeutic interventions to improve the physical, cognitive and functional ability, mood and well-being of patients.
To undertake assessments and treatments for both physiotherapy and occupational therapy independently.
To manage and prioritise own caseload delegated by qualified therapists, evaluating and adapting interventions.
To facilitate safe and timely interventions and discharge.
To contribute to team and service development.
To contribute to training and support to other team members and students.
There may be additional generic duties as directed by the team.
There may be a requirement for the post holder to work flexibly in other areas as required. The post may involve working across 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays.
