Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team in Lockerbie. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing day-to-day accounting functions.

The role is permanent and full time, however part time hours may be considered.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to)

Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Manage payroll and related statutory submissions
Assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting
Support audits and liaise with external accountants when required
Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or similar role
Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Advanced Excel skills preferred
