The Norfolk Workshop is a maker of luxury bespoke kitchens. We are known for our uncompromising attention to detail, the quality of our materials, and our commitment to traditional cabinetmaking, elevated through refined finishes and thoughtful installation. Every kitchen we produce is one of a kind. We are looking for a skilled and versatile Cabinet Maker to join our small, dedicated team. This is a hands on role suited to someone who takes genuine pride in their craft and holds themselves to the highest standards.
The role
You will be involved at every stage of production from cutting and constructing carcasses in the workshop, through to the finishing and on site installation of complete kitchen projects. An ideal candidate will have the range to move confidently between bench work, spraying, hand painting, and site work.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture of bespoke kitchen units and cabinetry to the highest standard
- Accurate cutting, construction, and assembly of carcasses and cabinet components
- Preparing surfaces and applying spray finishes in a dedicated spray environment
- Hand painting and brush finishing as required for specific project specifications
- On-site installation of completed kitchens, including fitting doors, drawers, and hardware
- Reading and working from detailed drawings and cutting lists
- Maintaining high standards of finish and quality control throughout production
- Keeping the workshop and any site environment tidy, safe, and organised
- Liaising with the wider team to ensure project timelines are met
Essential skills & Experience
- Proven background in cabinetmaking or joinery, ideally within kitchens or fitted furniture
- Hands-on experience with spray finishing equipment and materials
- Experience in hand painting or brush-applied finishes
- Confident in on-site installation and working in clients' homes
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently high standards of workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- A methodical, measured approach to precision work
Desirable
- City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in joinery or cabinetmaking
- Experience working with luxury or bespoke products
- Knowledge of a range of timber species, board materials, and hardware
- Full UK driving licence
Working Hours & Benefits
- Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
