Vacancy Information

Hourly rate of pay: £15.16 - £16.30

Post 1 - This is a 52 week non-sessional post i.e. it will include working during the school holidays. 41 hours per week during school term time, 37 hours per week during school holidays.

Post 2 - This is a 38 week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time only. 41 Hours per week. Although the post is Sessional for 38 weeks per year, pay is split equally over 12 months.

You will be asked to indicate which post(s) you would like to be considered for when you complete the application form.

Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday, 07:15-16:45
Friday, 07:15-14:00
To start 10th August 2026.

Job Details

Transport clients between their homes and various locations e.g. schools, day centres, lunch clubs, events and to drive a bus fitted to accommodate wheelchair access to various venues.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
A current PCV Licence (Category D).

Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this post.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.

Please note: PVG member’s records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG membership or update check, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant and investigated prior to any formal offer being made.
