Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Roofers Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting skilled roofers with various tasks on-site, supporting the safe and efficient installation and repair of roofing systems. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, eager to learn, and capable of working in a dynamic construction environment. No prior experience is necessary, as training will be provided, but familiarity with construction tools and safety procedures is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Assist roofers with loading and unloading materials using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris and setting up safety barriers
- Support in the installation of roofing materials according to project specifications
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, or metal sheets
- Use hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication equipment to assist in roofing tasks
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a secure working environment
- Support with carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or welding tasks as required
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to aid in construction activities
- Maintain a clean and organised work area throughout the project
Experience
- Prior experience in construction or roofing is not essential but is considered an advantage
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques preferred
- Knowledge of schematics, welding, carpentry, masonry, plumbing or roofing processes is beneficial
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and work at heights safely
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team
- Willingness to learn new skills related to roofing and construction trades
