Full job description

About the Role

PPG Fabrications is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented PDI Technician to carry out the final inspection, testing and preparation of our premium tipping bodies and commercial vehicles before delivery.

This is a safety-critical role, ensuring every vehicle meets the highest standards of quality, functionality and compliance before reaching our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out comprehensive pre-delivery inspections on completed vehicles.
Test and inspect hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
Install and commission vehicle electrical systems and accessories.
Fit and configure Brigade camera systems and other safety equipment.
Diagnose and rectify faults before vehicle handover.
Complete quality inspections in line with customer specifications and company standards.
Complete all inspection documentation accurately.
Work closely with production teams to resolve any issues efficiently.
Maintain excellent housekeeping and adhere to all Health & Safety procedures.

What We're Looking ForEssential

Previous experience working in a PDI, commercial vehicle, HGV or bodybuilder environment.
Experience working with a range of HGV chassis manufacturers (such as DAF, Scania, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, MAN, Renault or Iveco).
Strong knowledge of installing and fault-finding vehicle electrical systems.
Experience fitting Brigade camera systems or similar vehicle safety technology.
Good understanding of hydraulic systems.
Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

HGV Licence (Class C/C+E).
Relevant mechanical or vehicle engineering qualification.
Experience working within commercial vehicle manufacturing or body building.
