Full job description

Job overview

- Newcastle-under-Lyme
- 2 days per week (09:00–15:00, flexible by agreement)
- £12.50–£14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

We’re looking for a reliable and organised HR Assistant/Administrator to join the Hamptons Group team, supporting all our businesses including Tidysite Skip Services and Hamptons Metal Merchants.

This is a part-time role, ideal for someone who enjoys keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate staff records and supporting day-to-day HR administration across a busy, hands-on business.

We need someone who can hit the ground running – keeping everything up to date, compliant, and easy to find.

Key responsibilities

Maintaining and updating employee records (contracts, training, licences, certifications)
Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes
Keeping HR files organised, accurate and audit-ready
Monitoring training requirements and expiry dates
Assisting with recruitment administration (posting adverts, arranging interviews, responding to candidates)
Supporting payroll with basic admin tasks (timesheets, absence tracking)
Managing holiday and absence records
Helping ensure compliance with company policies and employment legislation
General office administration to support the wider team

What we’re looking for

Previous experience in an admin or HR support role
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Confident handling confidential information
Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Able to work independently and manage your own workload
Friendly, approachable, and happy to muck in where needed
Experience in a similar industry (waste, recycling, construction, or logistics) is a bonus, but not essential
