Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating sewing machines to produce high-quality work for upholstery and textile products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and prior experience in sewing, preferably with industry experience. The Sewing Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble and finish textile products
Follow detailed patterns and specifications to ensure accurate stitching and assembly
Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies, making adjustments as necessary
Maintain sewing equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and troubleshooting machine issues
Work efficiently within production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet production targets
Adhere to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment

Qualifications

Proven experience in sewing, with the ability to operate different types of sewing machines confidently
upholstery work experience is desirable but not essential; organisational skills are advantageous
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production needs
