About the Role

SCM is a forward moving, expanding company with excellent expertise in Robotics and Automation, working with major blue-chip companies.

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Purchasing Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing procurement operations, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies that support the organisation’s objectives.

You will play a key role in optimising supply chain performance, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across all purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies aligned with company goals
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and pricing
Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure quality, reliability, and value
Oversee procurement processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast demand
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency across the supply chain
Analyse market trends and assess risks to inform purchasing decisions
Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team

Requirements

Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, or similar role
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities
Experience with Sage Line 50
Solid understanding of supply chain management and purchasing processes
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Relevant degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Desirable Skills

Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM)
Experience in [industry—e.g., manufacturing, retail, logistics]
