The Cattle Information Service (The CIS) which is part of this group is looking to recruit a milk recorder in the Shropshire, Cheshire, North Wales, Anglesey area. The successful candidate shouldn’t mind early mornings, are computer literate and happy working in a farming environment.
Essential Key Skills & Requirements:

- Good standard of education, including GCSE or equivalent English and Maths
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit dairy farms.
- Record the weight of the milk produced by each individual cow on each farm.
- Draw the necessary samples from the milk produced by each individual cow and dispatch them to the central laboratory at Telford.
- Ensure accurate accounts of milk, fat and protein, yields, and health testing cow events are obtained and uploaded as necessary to the system.
- Ensure that the farmers comply with the obligations that they have undertaken to the CIS
- Report any failures by the farmers to your Area Manager.
- Provide milk recording cover for contract milk recorders as required.
- Aid in the training of new contract milk recorders.
- Carry out random DNA checks as required.
- Support your Area Manager as required.
