We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Bar Supervisor & Venue Coordinator to join our team.
This is a hands-on role focused primarily on bar operations and delivering exceptional customer service, while also supporting event coordination.
As a key member of the team, you will help create a welcoming environment for customers, performers, community groups, and visitors, whilst ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the venue and the successful delivery of events.
Key Responsibilities
Bar Supervision
- Lead shifts and support the bar team.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Open and close the venue when required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Prepare and serve drinks, including coffee and hot beverages.
- Assist with stock control and ordering.
- Support the training and development of team members.
- Ensure licensing, health and safety and venue procedures are followed.
Venue Hires & Event Coordination
- Assist with venue hire enquiries and bookings.
- Conduct venue setup for private functions, meetings, performances and community events.
- Liaise with customers to ensure event requirements are understood and delivered.
- Coordinate room layouts, equipment requirements and staffing needs.
- Support the delivery of events in the pub and in the theatre.
- Act as a key point of contact during events to ensure smooth operation.
Team Support
- Assist with staff rota planning and shift cover when required.
- Support management with operational tasks.
- Help maintain a positive, professional and welcoming venue environment.
Essential Requirements
- Outstanding customer service skills, with the ability to make every guest feel welcome, valued, and eager to return.
- A positive, can-do attitude with the confidence to take initiative, solve problems and support the wider team.
- A genuine understanding of and commitment to our ethos as a community venue and charitable organisation, with an appreciation of our wider aims in supporting arts, culture, wellbeing and community engagement.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a bar, pub, hospitality or customer-facing venue environment.
- An energetic, confident, and engaging personality with a natural ability to build rapport with customers, performers, volunteers, community groups and colleagues.
- Experience operating commercial coffee machines and preparing a range of hot beverages to a high standard.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused in a busy and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexibly, lone-working, including evenings, weekends and event days.
- Based locally to North Walsham or within a reasonable commuting distance.
Desirable
- Previous supervisory experience within a bar, pub, theatre or hospitality venue.
- Experience coordinating events, functions or venue hires.
- Experience assisting with staff rotas and team leadership.
- Knowledge of stock control and cellar management.

Pay: £25,500.00-£29,000.00 per year
