About the Role:
This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting knowledge, operational leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple finance activities in a structured and efficient way. You will work closely with senior management, commercial teams, operations, and external partners to ensure that financial processes are accurate, timely, and aligned with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Operations Oversight: Manage the daily activities of finance operations, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense processing, and financial administration.
Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly management reports, financial summaries, forecasts, and operational performance reports.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor incoming and outgoing payments, maintain cash flow visibility, and support short-term financial planning.
Budget Support: Assist with annual budgeting, departmental cost tracking, and periodic budget reviews.
Process Improvement: Review finance workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement practical improvements that increase accuracy and reduce processing delays.
Financial Controls: Maintain strong internal controls, review finance procedures, and help reduce errors, duplication, and financial risk.
Team Leadership: Supervise finance team members, allocate responsibilities, review work quality, and support professional development.
Stakeholder Coordination: Work with department managers, suppliers, customers, auditors, and service providers to resolve finance-related issues.
Compliance Support: Help ensure that financial records and processes follow company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Systems and Data: Maintain accurate finance system records, support system improvements, and ensure that financial data remains complete and reliable.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: 5 plus years of experience in finance operations, accounting, financial reporting, or a related finance role, including previous supervisory or management responsibility.
Finance Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, reconciliations, cash flow, budgeting, and month-end processes.
Leadership Skills: Able to manage a finance team, assign priorities, review performance, and maintain consistent service standards.
Analytical Ability: Comfortable reviewing financial data, identifying unusual activity, and preparing clear reports for management.
Systems Experience: Confident using accounting systems, finance software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
Communication Skills: Able to explain finance information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Problem Solving: Able to investigate payment issues, process gaps, reconciliation differences, and reporting concerns.
Attention to Detail: Accurate, organised, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a busy business environment.
Mindset: Commercially aware, dependable, practical, and committed to improving financial efficiency and control.
Pay: £4,700.00-£5,300.00 per month
