Are you an excellent communicator?
Do you thrive in a challenging and varied role where you can make a real difference to local communities?
If so, wed love to hear from you.
As a Civic Enforcement Officer, youll play a vital role in helping to keep Stockton-on-Tees clean, safe and welcoming for everyone. This is far more than a traditional enforcement role - its an opportunity to make a visible and lasting impact on the communities you serve.
Working across the borough, youll tackle a wide range of community safety and environmental issues, including anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping, littering, dog fouling, nuisance vehicles, Public Space Protection Order breaches and parking enforcement matters. No two days are the same. One day you could be carrying out patrols and investigating environmental offences, and the next gathering evidence for enforcement action, working with partner agencies to resolve complex community issues, or supporting residents to improve the place they call home.
Were looking for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives on variety and is confident dealing with challenging situations. Youll be a proactive and resilient problem-solver with the skills and experience to make a real difference in our communities.
Youll have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The confidence to deal professionally with challenging situations and conflict
- Experience within an enforcement, regulatory or community safety environment
- The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively under pressure
- Strong investigation, evidence-gathering and report-writing skills
- The ability to work independently and make sound decisions, while contributing positively as part of a team
- A commitment to improving local communities and delivering excellent customer service
- A full driving licence and a willingness to work flexibly when required
Above all, youll be passionate about making a positive difference and improving the quality of life for residents across Stockton-on-Tees.
