Full job description

We are looking for an Assistant Depot Supervisor who will be responsible for planning, coordination and assist control of all depot operations at our Bideford Depot.

Operating machinery which will include, Grab, Forklift Truck, Compactor, Bailers, Excavators.

Processing various waste material which may include Ferrous/Non-ferrous metals, cardboard.

Sorting waste into appropriate streams.

Qualifications & Experience:

Previous experience in a physically demanding role

Experience in grab and forklift operations is essential

Fixed Plant Certificate desirable

Basic maintenance desirable

Knowledge of H&S issues with heavy plant & machinery

Experience in a supervisory role

Be able to work minimum of 2 Saturday mornings a month 8am - 11am.

Good organisational skills
Good numeracy skills
Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, managers and the public
Attention to detail
Possess a flexible approach to working

Qualifications & Experience:

A good standard of education with a minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade A-C or equivalent
Understand the operation and application of a range of IT systems including Microsoft Office, RECY/MULCO (or other waste recycling software).
Good knowledge of metals, metal markets and recycling waste management regulations.
Knowledge of H&S issues with heavy plant & machinery
Experience of working in a busy environment with competing priorities & demands
WAMITAB or other waste related NVQ (training offered)
