All programs have behaviour analysis at the core, as well as a strong PBS framework, Verbal Behaviour Approach, and incorporate education research, parenting research, attachment theory and trauma informed care.

We are looking for a trainee ABA Therapist to join our team, to work on a programme in NN5. Starting hours would be approximately 4+ hours per week, plus monthly 3 hour workshops. You must be reliable, punctual, enthusiastic and open to developing a person-centred approach. We are able to pay £13-£14.00/hour dependent on experience. This is an ideal role for a Psychology graduate with SEN experience. Increased hours possible in future for the right candidate. No previous experience in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) required.
Main duties:
- You will work initially with one client, delivering 2 sets of 2 hour sessions per week after school, between Monday-Thursday.
- Once agreed between yourself and the clients, hours will be delivered on the same days and times each week, with 30 days notice required for changes, both from clients and yourself.
- Attendance will be required at monthly workshops.
- You will run therapy alone, in the client’s home, using initiative and, keeping resources organised, under the guidance of a Behavioural Consultant.
- Sessions are play based, child led and incorporate a lot of natural environment teaching
- You may also encounter and be required to manage challenging behaviours, including biting, spitting, scratching, etc, and will be supported by guidance from the Behavioural Consultant.
- You will work closely with parents and the Consultant.
- You will follow standard safeguarding procedure and reporting any concerns whilst you are working
- You will receive regular support and training from your Supervisor and Consultant (BCBA/UKBA supervision can be included in this role), including a monthly 1-1 to support you and your professional development.
- Additional training sessions are periodically run by Leapfrog which are free for you to attend, e.g. Professional Boundaries, PBS, etc.
Essential:
You must have previous SEN experience working with children
You must have a degree in Psychology or a related field
You must be open to learning new approaches and procedures
You must be reliable and committed
You must have excellent communication skills
You must have right to work in the UK and be able to be self-employed
You must have a clean Enhanced DBS check or be willing to get one
You must have business insurance for your car, if you are intending to use your own vehicle to drive to clients
You must have insurance for behavioural therapy or be willing to acquire it
You must have use of a car for ease of getting to clients.
You must be able to commit for at least 12 months due to the needs of the children involved.
Desirable:
You may have availability to work with additional children in future
You may have previous experience with PBS
