Full job description

Do you want to work in a care home that's been rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC?
At Burlington, we look after elderly people, many of whom have a dementia. We believe that qualities rather than qualifications make the best care staff, so the attributes we are looking for are:

Kindness and patience.
Sense of humour and not being afraid in joining in the fun!
Excellent work ethic including time keeping and attendance.
Understanding, sympathetic and thoughtful.

In return, we will offer you an hourly rate of £12.90 per hour plus incentive payments on all overtime.

DUTIES: Key Tasks may vary but will include

Assisting people who live here with all aspects of daily care.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff
Record and document all care given to residents throughout your shift
Assist with dining room duties including serving meals and assisting people to eat and drink as required.
Assist and participate in the social events and daily activities and outings.
Act as a chaperone for medical and professional staff as required
Understand and adapt to people who have dementia and symptoms from this disease.
Report accidents and incidents to the senior member of staff on duty

When on shift you are part of the team complement and as such are required to help and assist with all aspects of resident’s care.

'We expect the home to fit in around every individual, not them fit around the running of the home'!!

We care passionately about the people living here and so applicants must want to make a difference to the resident's lives each and every day.

We have day shifts available which include a mixture of early and late shifts, or long day shifts depending on your preference. (33 hours per week) This includes every other weekend with the opportunity to do overtime with excellent incentive pay on all overtime.

Qualifications Required: currently holding NVQ level 2 (Adult) or equivalent or willing to work towards the qualification.
