Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Stopper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing fire-stopping systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. This role requires a strong understanding of various construction disciplines, including roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, and masonry. The Fire Stopper will play a vital part in maintaining the safety integrity of commercial and residential structures through precise installation and inspection of fire-resistant barriers.
Responsibilities
- Install fire-stopping materials in accordance with technical specifications and schematics
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and install fire-resistant materials
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute installations
- Conduct inspections to verify the integrity of fire-stopping installations and identify areas requiring repair or improvement
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency on-site
- Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures during installation processes
Experience
- Proven experience in construction-related roles such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work or masonry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and scaffolding systems
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans is essential
- Previous experience with fire-stopping systems or passive fire protection is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and quality assurance
