Streetworks Manager
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE) | Company Benefits
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full Time | Permanent | 40 hours per week
The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and organised Streetworks Manager to manage all streetworks noticing and permitting activities for off-site construction works.
This is a key role responsible for ensuring all permits and notices are submitted accurately, approved within required timescales, and closed correctly on completion of works. You'll work closely with councils, utility providers, construction teams, and regional stakeholders to support efficient project delivery, maintain compliance, and minimise operational delays.
Alongside managing permits, you'll play an important role in supporting and developing the wider team, building strong external relationships, and driving high standards of performance across the function.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end streetworks permit process, ensuring all notices are submitted within statutory timescales

Raise and manage permits for gas, water, and electricity works, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations

Request and coordinate Traffic Management (TM) drawings to support planned works

Raise purchase orders and maintain associated records

Provide regular updates to operational teams, contractors, and stakeholders on permit status and progress

Challenge and contest Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) where appropriate

Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, councils, IDNOs, DNOs, and other external stakeholders

Support construction regions with streetworks compliance, permitting advice, and best practice

Monitor, maintain, and report on KPIs and operational performance trackers

Train, coach, and develop team members to improve capability and performance

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance permit management processes and compliance
What You’ll Need:
-
Strong knowledge of streetworks legislation and permit requirements, including S50, S58, and S171 permits

Experience working directly with local authorities and councils

Experience using Aurora and Symology (or similar streetworks management systems)

Good understanding of how ICPs, IDNOs, and DNOs operate

Experience managing and contesting Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs)

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

NRSWA Supervisor Accreditation
