Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative dental care, assisting with patient education, and supporting the overall functionality of the clinic. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work 30 minute appointments with a nurse within a supportive team environment, contributing to patients’ oral health and wellbeing.

The position has an excellent rate of pay and suitable for individuals committed to delivering exceptional dental services.

Responsibilities

Perform professional dental cleaning procedures, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
Conduct oral health assessments and record findings accurately in patient records.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies.
Assist dentists during examinations and minor procedures as required.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate techniques and ensure patient safety during imaging procedures.
Maintain sterilisation protocols for dental instruments and ensure the cleanliness of treatment areas.
Manage patient appointments efficiently, confirming schedules and rescheduling as necessary.
Keep detailed and organised patient records in compliance with practice policies and regulations.

Experience

Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist is essential
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry is desirable.
A solid understanding of human anatomy, particularly oral anatomy, is essential to perform duties effectively.
Certification or registration with relevant dental authorities must be maintained according to local regulations.

This role requires a compassionate approach, attention to detail, organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will be proactive in their professional development and eager to contribute positively to our dental team.
