The Role:
Echo’s Software Services Division has been delivering market‑leading utility billing solutions to water companies in the UK and internationally for over 25 years. As we continue to expand our Aptumo platform and strengthen our market position, we’re looking for a commercially minded Business Analyst to help shape the next phase of our growth.
This role goes beyond traditional BA work. You’ll partner with teams across the business to design customer‑centric solutions, streamline processes, and support the achievement of our revenue and growth targets. You’ll combine analytical thinking, design thinking, and commercial awareness to help us win new business and deliver exceptional value to clients.
Client & Prospect Delivery

Produce high‑quality requirements artefacts including user stories, BRDs, functional specifications, and test cases.

Work with prospects and existing clients to capture, interpret, prioritise, and refine business requirements.

Build a deep understanding of Echo’s products to confidently demonstrate features and support successful adoption.

Develop strong knowledge of the water billing market, customer needs, and regulatory drivers.

Collaborate closely with Product teams to influence the roadmap using market insights and client feedback.
What You’ll Need:

Experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within software, utilities, or a regulated environment.

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect customer needs with business outcomes.

Confidence working with clients, prospects, and cross‑functional teams.

Ability to produce clear, structured requirements documentation and user stories.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complexity into simple, actionable insights.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present solutions and influence stakeholders.

A proactive, curious mindset with a passion for improving processes and customer journeys.

Familiarity with product‑led environments or SaaS solutions is a bonus.
