Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable SSSTS Demolition Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out demolition works safely and efficiently while supporting site supervision duties. The role requires compliance with all health and safety regulations, site procedures, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out soft strip, structural, and controlled demolition activities.
Operate demolition tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Assist with site set-up, segregation of waste materials, and site clearance.
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with project specifications and risk assessments.
Support the Site Supervisor in coordinating daily site activities.
Conduct and participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Monitor and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices immediately.
Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and other site personnel.
Ensure plant, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a safe condition.
Follow company policies, RAMS, and demolition industry best practices.

Essential Requirements

Valid SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
CCDO Demolition Operative Card (or equivalent).
Previous demolition experience within commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
Good understanding of demolition methods and safe working practices.
Ability to read and follow risk assessments and method statements.
Strong awareness of health and safety legislation.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required.
