Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Washer to join our animal care team. This role involves providing high-quality grooming services to ensure our canine clients are clean, comfortable, and happy. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall wellbeing of our furry customers. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in animal care within a professional environment.

Duties

Bathing and grooming dogs using appropriate techniques and products
Drying, brushing, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
Assisting with trimming nails and cleaning ears as needed
Handling dogs safely and gently during washing procedures
Maintaining cleanliness of grooming equipment and work area
Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare instructions
Ensuring the safety and comfort of animals throughout the grooming process
Assisting with organisational tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing customer records

Qualifications

Prior veterinary experience or animal care qualifications are highly desirable
Genuine passion for working with animals and understanding their needs
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, including lifting dogs or equipment safely
Patience, kindness, and a gentle approach when handling animals of all temperaments
Organised with attention to detail in maintaining hygiene standards and grooming procedures
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
