About Buzz Overland
We design and manufacture premium overlanding accessories for the INEOS Grenadier from our workshop in Northwich, Cheshire. Founded in 2023, our product range spans protection, access, modular storage, lighting, and performance upgrades — all engineered and proudly manufactured in the UK, sold direct to customers worldwide. We're a small, hands-on team where the work is real, the problems are interesting, and you'll see your designs go from CAD to physical product quickly.
The Role
We're looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineering graduate to join the team and support our product design and development work. This is a practical, varied role — you'll be working directly with our Operations Director and getting involved in everything from detailed CAD modelling to 3D scanning vehicles and helping translate our existing product line onto new vehicle platforms.
If you want a hands-on design role where the products you develop end up on overland vehicles around the world, this is it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Fusion 360 CAD work — producing detailed models, drawings, and assemblies to support product development and manufacturing
- 3D scanning — operating our Einscan HX handheld scanner to capture vehicle interior geometry, generating point clouds and mesh data for use in Fusion 360
- Reverse engineering — processing scan data into usable CAD geometry for new product development
- Platform adaptation — using our existing INEOS Grenadier product range as a basis to develop fitments for other 4x4 platforms (Toyota 76 Series Land Cruiser, New Defender, etc.)
- Technical drawings — producing DXF/DWG outputs for laser cutting and fabrication
- Design iteration — supporting prototype builds, feeding back from workshop to CAD, and iterating designs efficiently
- Product documentation — maintaining organised CAD libraries and associated technical files
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 (or demonstrable ability to get up to speed quickly — show us your portfolio)
- Strong spatial reasoning and ability to model complex sheet metal and structural components
- Attention to detail — our products have to fit first time
- Self-starter attitude — we're a small team and we move quickly
Desirable (not essential — we'll train the right person):
- Experience with 3D scanning hardware or point cloud/mesh processing software
- Knowledge of sheet metal design for laser cutting and bending
- Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) — useful for structural validation of brackets and load-bearing components; experience with Fusion 360's built-in simulation tools is a bonus
- Interest in 4x4 vehicles, overlanding, or automotive accessories
- Any exposure to DFM (design for manufacture) in a fabrication/sheet metal context
What You'll Get
- £28,000 – £32,000 depending on experience
- 28 days holiday per year (including bank holidays)
- Company pension scheme
- Free on-site parking
- A workshop environment where your designs become real products fast
- Working directly with the founder team, with hands-on guidance across the full design and manufacturing process
- Exposure to the full product development cycle — concept through to customer delivery
- A genuinely interesting product area with a growing international customer base
