Full job description

Push & Glide Swimming School are currently recruiting competent lifeguards with a current NPLQ, to take responsibility for the health and safety of our swimmers and ensure all our poolside lessons are run safely. A DBS check will be completed.

Available Hours (Term Time only):

Cover Lifeguards for our Northwood venue Mon-Thurs 5.30-8pm, Fridays 8am-1pm and 2-5pm, Sundays 8.15am-12.45pm.

Cover Lifeguards - various hours weekdays at John Lyon Senior School 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm & Saturdays 9am-1.15pm, 2-5pm and Sundays 9am-12.45pm

Several of our current lifeguards will be moving on in September and, as such, we expect there to be opportunities for regular weekly shifts following any cover work undertaken over the coming months.

Responsibilities:

- Ensuring your qualification is kept up to date
- Continually maintaining safety in and around the pool
-Risk assess and manage poolside safety before, during and after all swim sessions
-Putting in lane ropes
-Ensuring poolside, including the equipment is kept tidy whilst lessons take place
-Pack away equipment safely
-Ensuring all adhere to the poolside rules

Requirements:

It is essential that candidates:

· Are over the age of 16 and have the right to work in the UK
· Have an up-to-date Lifeguard qualification (Lifeguard – NPLQ/NaRS) with evidence of current and ongoing training log

· Hold a valid safeguarding certificate or be willing to complete one within a month of starting.
· Are responsible individuals who are able to demonstrate a mature and professional attitude to their employment
· Have excellent communication skills
· Are able to flexibly adapt to effectively deal with sometimes unpredictable challenges within the childcare industry

It is highly desirable that candidates:

· Hold a 12 hour paediatric first aid qualification
· Hold a previous DBS check which is registered on the DBS Update Service (DBS check will be carried out)
· Have knowledge and previous training in safeguarding and child protection

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Part-time hours: 10 per week

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
