Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies is currently seeking a suitably qualified senior practitioner to take responsibility for the development of our Step 3 primary care services. We are interested in hearing from suitably qualified practitioner psychologists and/or CBT therapists, with experience of demonstrable clinical leadership.
This is a particularly good time to consider joining us. The service has recently been re-commissioned and performance against many national metrics is strong. As part of our commitment to quality, we have recently achieved APPTS accreditation with the Royal College of Psychiatrists. We have a formal partnership with East London Foundation Trust, including an expert reference group, to share expertise and guide senior practitioners in their roles. There are already specialisms in long term conditions and peri-natal, and we are also seeking to enhance our trauma provision in line with commissioning requirements. There are plans for significant further investment in clinical services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of our Step 3 service, with a focus on clinical quality and development. You will work collaboratively with an operational manager, clinical lead and director of psychology to ensure that patient experience and outcomes are prioritised and that service aims and objectives are understood and met by staff. As an experienced CBT practitioner and supervisor, you will also ensure that clinical supervision is used effectively, to promote professional resilience, knowledge and growth and to manage volume caseloads cases through a tiered care system.
Although we are seeking, ideally, an experienced CBT therapist or BABCP-accredited clinical psychologist, we will consider applications from newly qualified practitioner psychologists who are committed to a BABCP pathway to accreditation as a CBT therapist as part of their preceptorship. The successful applicant will also be expected to develop their supervision skills as a priority. Such appointments will be made at AfC Band 7, with an 8a grade achieved on successful completion of preceptorship. Candidates should have a passion for research and for innovation around using digital approaches and AI to improve therapy adherence, quality and impact of therapy, as well as quality of supervision.
The service is research active and works closely the University of East Anglia to deliver research and evaluation projects to publication.
Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other.
