If you have an interest in neurodivergence and ADHD, and would like to further your skills, come and work with the Norfolk & Waveney Adult ADHD Team.

Part time 18.75hour contract

We are seeking a non-medical prescriber to work with the Team, who will focus on the assessment and treatment of adults with ADHD, including adults with complex presentations (mental and physical health comorbidity, perinatal, learning disability, autism, substance use, criminal justice, veterans, and marginalised, vulnerable groups).

Our aim is to support people from 18 years and upwards to improve their quality of life, by providing meaningful and quality-driven assessments and safe, thorough and optimised treatment for ADHD.

There are options for flexible / hybrid working.

We are looking for a registered nurse with an existing non-medical prescribing qualification, as initiating, titrating, and reviewing medication is a key element to the role.

Prior experience of working within an ADHD service is preferable, however we would consider transferrable skills such as working with people with ADHD or neurodivergence in alternate settings, or experience of community working.

Initiating, titrating, reviewing, and adjusting medicines in accordance with our formulary. Once training is completed and competence established, to complete ADHD assessments and diagnostic reviews. The role also includes providing supervision to Band 6 practitioners in the Team, as well as supporting daily ‘Duty’ work involving triaging referrals and responding to more urgent queries.

Our clinic bases are Great Yarmouth, Norwich City Centre and Kings Lynn, and the role may require working from other health-based locations.

We are looking for someone with a positive approach to change, willingness to be involved in service development and shared-learning, and keen to work as part of Team where we strongly uphold Trust values.

We’re a small team but the skill/knowledge mix is outstanding, with clinicians from different backgrounds in health and social care all contributing their expert skills, plus dedicated and determined Team leadership.

We are assisted up by hard-working and superbly skilled administrators, led by a senior administrator who has underpinned everything.

We have strong links with the participation team, which means we get to hear the service user and carer voice, and our service-user feedback regarding their care is consistently positive.

Prescribe from a locally agreed ADHD formulary and in keeping with shared-care agreements, within their own sphere of competence

Promote clinical excellence by complying with agreed Trust and statutory policies and clinical guidance, while maintaining own clinical competencies in this role

Carry out appropriate risk assessment regarding prescribing and non-prescribing interventions and implement appropriate interventions to manage the risks

Ensure that appropriate records are maintained

Provide advice and support to other clinicians acting as a source of expertise

Provide clinical supervision

Provide advice and guidance to other clinicians within scope of practice

Request necessary clinical investigations such as blood tests, ECG and Blood pressure monitoring, and communicate results to all appropriate clinicians

Signpost to interventions according to service users’ recovery goals.
