Job Title: National Traffic Planner – General Haulage

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our busy Traffic Office team, supporting our General Haulage operation. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers and ensuring service levels are consistently achieved.
- Planning and optimisation of our national General Haulage fleet.
- Manage and allocate work through our trusted network of subcontractors.
- Communicate daily with drivers, providing work instructions and responding promptly to operational queries and issues.
- Monitor vehicle movements and respond to any operational challenges to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure the smooth running of daily transport operations.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all transport activities comply with company procedures and relevant legislation.
- Organise presentation of vehicles for Inspection and MOT’s to our service providers.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within transport, logistics or a traffic office environment in planning vehicles. (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Good problem-solving ability and confidence when making decisions.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with experience using transport management systems being advantageous.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a desire to develop within the business.
