On Track Education Mildenhall – Swift House
The Swift House site is part of the On Track school in Mildenhall. Swift House is set in stunning scenery on a very peaceful country estate in Quidenham, Norfolk. Our school is a small independent special school for pupils aged 11 to 16 with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. The Mildenhall school has been established for 15 years and was last inspected by Ofsted in March 2023, receiving judgements of ‘good’ in all categories. Our pupils engage in an interesting and inspiring curriculum that leads them to gain accreditation, including a range of GCSEs, BTEC and Level 1 / Level 2 qualifications
With a strong focus on social and emotional development, the school adopts trusting, respectful relationships between staff and pupils, forming the foundation for meaningful progress. Its motivational and progressive curriculum is underpinned by the therapeutic principles of THRIVE®, supporting each young person’s emotional wellbeing alongside academic achievement.
The Role
You will play a key part in helping pupils re-engage with learning, build confidence, and make meaningful progress. You will only be required to teach PE part-time so will also be required to work as General teacher to provide cover when necessary. Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake responsibility for PE and ensure all pupils develop their knowledge and skills and make good progress in their learning
- Planning and delivery of an engaging curriculum that enables all pupils to enjoy learning, achieve well, and make good progress towards clearly defined outcomes
- Setting personalised learning targets based on pupils’ prior attainment, ensuring individual needs and potential are recognised and supported
- Planning with full consideration of each pupil’s special educational needs, creating inclusive, accessible learning experiences tailored to their profiles

About you
We’re looking for a dedicated and creative educator with a genuine passion for working with young people. Ideally, you will:
· Ideally have qualified teacher status
· Have experience delivering lessons to secondary school pupils, with the ability to make learning informative, hands-on and inspiring
· Experience of teaching physical education
- Experience of working with young people in an SEN environment.
· Passionate about the social and emotional wellbeing of children
- Be committed to ongoing professional development and continually improving your practice
- Have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle, insured for business use

Salary & Benefits
· £30,980 - £35,585 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
· This will be pro rata for part-time hours

Working Hours
Full-time or Part-time:
Full-time Monday to Friday, 8.30am and 4.30pm.
Part-time days to be discussed at the interview.
