Role Overview:
We are seeking a multi-skilled bathroom & kitchen fitter to join our building solutions team. The ideal candidate must be experienced in having undertaken multiple bathroom and kitchen fittings, of various scales and sizes, capable of working independently and as part of a team. Must be able to work weekends and work out of hours.
The work undertaken will be midlands based but not exclusive to here as working away nationally from time to time will be required. Additionally, working out of hours where it may not be possible to carry out the works in normal hours to accommodate our client’s needs, or attending to call outs is required in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Some of the key responsibilities and skills that we are looking for the applicant to fulfil and possess are:
- Installation of bathroom suites (baths, showers, toilets, basins, vanity units)
- Fitting kitchen units, worktops, sinks and appliances
- Tiling walls and floors to a professional finish
- Basic electrical work - fitting extractor fans, lighting and shaver points
- Waterproofing and sealing (silicone, grout, tanking)
- Removal and disposal of existing fixtures and fittings
- Reading and working from plans, drawings and specifications
- Liaising with clients and other trades on site
- Ensuring all work meets current Building Regulations and manufacturer guidelines
- Identifying and resolving on-site issues as they arise
- Completing work on time, to budget and to a high standard of finish
Requirements:
- Qualified Plumbing/Joinery/Carpentry/Fitted Interiors (NVQ Level 2/3 or Equivalent)
- Proven experience in bathroom and kitchen fitting
- Strong understanding of building regulations and safe working practices
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours from time to time and work away from home
- Able to work the contracted hours of 7:30am to 5pm Monday – Friday
- Must be able to be placed on an on-call rota
- Must be able to work late and will be given 24 hours’ notice if required
- Must be able to work away and will be given 48 hours’ notice if required
Desirable:
- Will be able to hold a full DBS check.
- Additional trade skills (plastering, basic plumbing, advantage.
- CSCS card
