We will recruit to ten sessions. This job will consist of working as part of the Trainer the Trainer Faculty within the East Midlands for 9 months of the year and for the remaining three months providing Training Programme Directors (TPD) support to local programmes and/or to assist with ARCP panels. There will support from other TPDs.

The guidance regarding starting pay scales for GP Educators has recently changed.

To be appointed at GP01:
The applicant must be able to demonstrate a full 12 months of experience at GP00.

This evidence must clearly show relevant previous educational experience that meets the requirements of the GP00 year.

If the applicant cannot provide sufficient evidence:
They will need to be appointed at GP00 for 12 months before progressing to GP01.

The role of GP Training Programme Director is to work with and support the Primary Care Dean & Heads of School in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the NHS England mandate.

This role will include, amongst other responsibilities:

To deliver educator training across 9 months of the year, including three, five-day courses, and a variety of two days courses, and one day refreshers.
For the remaining three months of the year to provide TPD support for local GP training programmes and/or to support the ARCP panel

Earlier this year, the Government announced that NHS England will gradually merge with the Department of Health and Social Care, leading to full integration. The aim is to create a smaller, more strategic centre that reduces duplication and eliminates waste.
