About the role:
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Sales & marketing coordinator to join us on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a well-established role and make an immediate impact within a busy, target-driven team.
Working closely with the marketing manager, you will be responsible for driving income through advertising sales, primarily for PI Focus, while also identifying opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell across our wider products and services. Your role will act as a vital bridge between marketing activities and the sales process. You will also support membership growth through targeted outreach campaigns.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver income growth through the conversion of existing clients and new prospects across APIL’s publishing portfolio
- Assess potential advertisers and build outreach, lead qualification and prospecting routines
- Collaborate with marketing on campaigns to synchronise marketing and sales efforts
- Achieve outbound sales KPIs including call activity, meetings, proposals, and conversions
- Identify and secure cross-selling and up-selling opportunities across events, sponsorship, and training
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective needs analysis
- Provide expert advice to clients on advertising and promotional strategies
- Maintain an accurate and organised sales pipeline using CRM systems and update tracking tools
- Contribute to improving sales processes, materials, and client journeys
- Produce regular sales performance reports and insights
- Attend events to generate qualified leads and strengthen relationships
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to maximise membership growth through campaigns targeting new, lapsed, and renewing members
About you:
- Experience in sales, account management, or business development
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Cold outreach and proactive prospecting
- Comfortable working to targets and KPIs
- Confident in presenting and negotiating with clients
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Experience using CRM systems
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
- Able to quickly pick up and manage an existing pipeline
