Nursing Home Deputy Manager (RGN/RMN)
12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
£24 per hour
Full-Time

Are you a passionate Registered Nurse looking for your next leadership opportunity? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our leadership team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working alongside the Home Manager, you will lead the delivery of exceptional, person-centred care whilst supporting and developing a dedicated nursing and care team.

This role is ideally suited to a nurse with experience in elderly care and dementia services who is looking to further develop their management career within a highly regarded nursing home. Applicants must hold a valid NMC PIN and be available to commence employment within 4 weeks of appointment.

About the Role

Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring residents receive exceptional care and support. You will help lead and develop our care team, oversee clinical and operational standards, and promote a positive culture focused on dignity, respect and continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for:

Supporting the overall management and leadership of the home.
Leading high-quality dementia care and person-centred practice.
Supervising, mentoring and developing members of the care team.
Supporting recruitment, induction, training and performance management.
Ensuring care plans and records are accurate, up to date and compliant.
Managing staffing levels and supporting roster planning.
Promoting a safe environment for residents, visitors and colleagues.
Supporting quality assurance, governance and CQC compliance.
Working alongside the Home Manager to assess prospective residents and support occupancy and funding processes.
Acting as a role model and promoting best practice across the service.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Is a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC PIN (essential).
Has previous experience in a senior nursing, clinical leadership, deputy manager or similar management role within a care home environment.
Has a strong understanding of dementia care and person-centred practice.
Demonstrates excellent clinical leadership and decision-making skills.
Is confident leading, motivating and developing teams.
Possesses excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Is committed to delivering outstanding standards of care and resident wellbeing.
Has knowledge of CQC requirements and care home regulations.
Is willing to work towards or already holds a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management.
