Full job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this role is to generate income for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum (NNRF) through trusts, grants and foundations. This includes the development and delivery of a strategy to maximise income from trusts and commissioned services. Duties will include identifying new opportunities, developing and monitoring applications, managing relationships, and preparing reports.

Salary is £29,933.61 per annum, pro rata (10 hours per week)

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Income generation through Grants and Trusts applications

Take the lead on developing, implementing and monitoring grant and trusts applications and a grant bidding strategy.
Research and act-on grant opportunities to generate income that support the needs of Nottingham Refugee Forum
Recruit and supervise volunteer members of our Grants Committee, to enable them to effectively support the delivery of our strategic and operational grants bidding  
Draw up and deliver a calendar of application deadlines
Prepare trustee reports to provide accurate and timely information for re-forecasting purposes

Stewardship and Engagement

Maintain a database of grants organisations and supporting materials
Work with Fundraising Coordinator, management team and finance officer to create and implement an overarching income generating strategy

Reporting

Manage the reporting calendar and ensure that all reports are submitted in timely manner
Provide assistance to staff in preparing funder reports.
Review all reports prior to submission to ensure quality, compliance and consistency

Organisational Responsibilities

To be a NNRF ambassador by upholding and demonstrating the organisational values and behaviours at every opportunity, through verbal, written and face to face communication 
Work collaboratively with other staff and departments to help prepare and set up events e.g. Refugee Week, Conferences and AGMs 
Participate in own supervision and appraisal process and attend staff and team meetings 
Any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post, subject to the proviso that any changes of a permanent nature will be incorporated into the Job Description in specific terms, following consultation with the postholder

EXPERIENCE

Proven experience of securing six figure grants from a range of funders in the UK(E) 
A proven track record in successfully working to and exceeding targets (E) 
Experience of producing excellent funder reports (E)
Experience of working with and supervising volunteers/staff (D)  
Lived experience of forced migration (D) 
Experience of developing successful income generation strategies (D) 
Experience of developing successful strong partnerships and/or networks of contacts (D)

KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES

Ability to prioritise own workload, to multi-task and manage time effectively (E) 
Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to engage effectively with a variety of audiences at all levels (E) 
Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation (E)
Knowledge of the UK funding environment (E)
IT literate and a good understanding of how to use social media (E) 
Practical knowledge of budgetary planning, monitoring and reporting of financial data (D)

Willingness to work variable hours, including out of hours and/or at weekends as needed
