About the Role
We’re looking for skilled and motivated HGV/LGV Drivers to join our frontline Waste & Cleansing team. In this role, you’ll be more than just a driver — you’ll be a leader, ensuring essential services run smoothly and helping keep Nottingham clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
We are recruiting HGV Drivers, for the following specific shift requirements:
✅ 4 x Waste and Cleansing HGV Drivers
These roles will require operating HGV Refuse collection vehicles between these times:
All roles may require flexibility across Waste, Recycling, Street Cleansing, and Winter Service support.
About You
- Drive and take responsibility for our Waste & Cleansing vehicles (up to HGV)
- Lead and support a crew of up to 4 operatives, including mentoring new drivers
- Deliver a wide range of frontline services
- Always ensure safety — for yourself, your crew, and the public
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, basic maintenance, and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy
- Use in‑cab systems to support efficient and responsive service delivery
- Work flexibly across the city in all weathers as part of a dedicated public service team
✅ Guaranteed Interview if you meet these 3 requirements:
- Hold a Category C (HGV Class II) driving licence
- Have a valid Driver CPC card
- Experience/knowledge in safely operating vehicles such as refuse collection vehicles, gritters, and mainline sweepers
