We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kennel Manager to oversee daily operations at our busy animal care facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, and maintaining excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of kennel staff to ensure smooth operations
- Oversee the care and welfare of animals, including feeding, cleaning, and health monitoring
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, and behavioural observations
- Manage bookings, appointments, and customer enquiries with professionalism and empathy
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the facility
- Organise staff rotas and provide training to new team members
- Handle heavy lifting tasks related to cleaning equipment, supplies, and animal enclosures
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe environment for both animals and staff
Skills
- Proven experience in veterinary care or animal care management is highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as required in daily tasks
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to animal care environments
- Compassionate attitude towards animals with a keen eye for detail in their welfare management
