The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Family Lawyer to join our growing Family Law team based in Nottingham. This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-quality caseload within a high-performing and forward-thinking department. Some travel and occasional out-of-hours attendance will be required for business development activities, meetings, and training.

The successful candidate will have significant experience handling high-net-worth financial matters, Children Act proceedings, and a broad range of family law work.

As a key member of the team, you will play an important role in delivering exceptional legal services while contributing to the continued growth and development of the department.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and progress a varied caseload across all aspects of family law, including:
Preventative and advisory work
High-net-worth financial remedy negotiations and proceedings
Children Act matters
TOLATA claims
International family law matters
Injunctive proceedings
Develop and build a specialist area of expertise within family law
Work closely with senior colleagues to progress matters and support the strategic development of the team
Contribute to business growth through networking, relationship building, and market profile raising activities
Identify and develop new business opportunities
Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering a consistently high standard of service
Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies, and case management procedures
Manage files efficiently and commercially
Support, supervise, and mentor junior team members
Maintain and develop technical knowledge and professional skills

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

A recognised legal qualification
Approximately 5+ years' post-qualification experience in family law
Strong technical expertise across a broad range of family law matters, including:
Divorce and financial remedy work, including high-net-worth cases
Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
Children Act proceedings
TOLATA disputes
International family law matters
Injunctive relief
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive and commercially minded approach
Experience contributing to business development initiatives
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office applications
The ability to work collaboratively while managing responsibilities independently
Sound judgement, integrity, and professionalism
Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with clients facing challenging personal circumstances
