Job Purpose
Laser Expertise is seeking an experienced and reliable Welder to join our manufacturing team in Nottingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding and fabrication work, ensuring products are manufactured safely, accurately, and to customer specifications. The role requires the ability to work from engineering drawings, maintain quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement within the fabrication department.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG and/or TIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and other materials as required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
- Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting components.
- Assemble and weld components to the required specifications and tolerances.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts to ensure quality standards are met.
- Use measuring equipment and hand tools accurately.
- Operate fabrication machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
- Identify and report defects, material shortages, or production issues to management.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist colleagues when required.
- Work to production schedules while maintaining excellent quality standards.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience within a welding and fabrication environment.
- Competent MIG welding skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
- Good time management and reliability.
Desirable
- TIG welding experience.
- Fabrication and Welding qualification or apprenticeship.
- Experience working within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift experience
- Welding certifications or coded welding experience.

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
