About Us:
At Dolby Funeral Services, we work in a unique industry, helping people through difficult times and always with compassion, respect, and care. We set the highest standards, and we expect a high level of commitment and loyalty. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and impeccable standards. Every day we want to meet and exceed our families’ expectations. As a Funeral Bearer, you will be at the very heart and focal point of our business, consistently delivering high levels of service to the deceased and their families. This is a casual position offering the flexibility to work around current work/life commitments.
This role may best suit someone who is retired, studying or looking for casual work to top up other earnings. The daytime work is ad-hoc, but you must be able to commit to the on-call rota. It would also be beneficial to live in good reach of the Bassetlaw area, say a 15-20 minute drive maximum.
The Opportunity:
Our Funeral Bearers are often the first members of the team to meet our families and are ambassadors for the Company. You would be part of a team providing reassurance that we will look after the family's loved one as we bring them into our care.
Previous experience within the funeral sector will be advantageous. However, full training will be given. So are you:
- A person of absolute integrity
- Able to communicate in a clear and considerate way
- Well presented, courteous and of good character
- Willing to go the extra mile and think outside the box
- Seeking a truly rewarding position serving others at a time of immense need
- Reliable, flexible, resourceful
- Punctual with excellent time management
- A team player
- Can work on your own initiative
- Able to carry out a range of physical tasks, including but not limited to heavy lifting
Hours of work: PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME 40HR WEEK ROLE
Your hours of work are variable each week in accordance with the agreed rota, to meet the operational requirements of the Company. This is a casual role, so the hours are as and when required during the day - Monday to Friday for bearing.
The fixed part of the role is on an 'on-call' rota. You must be able to commit and respond to a phone call to meet a colleague at any hour of the day or night during the week, weekends and bank holidays. If you are not sure you can commit, then please do not apply. You would be involved in helping to move the deceased from the place where they have passed away to our private ambulance.
