Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Waitress - Food Runner to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role involves delivering exceptional guest service, ensuring timely food delivery, and supporting the smooth operation of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for providing memorable dining experiences. Previous experience in hospitality or food service is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an engaging environment for those eager to develop their skills within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained
- Assist with the delivery of dishes from the kitchen to tables promptly and efficiently
- Support the waitstaff by refilling drinks, clearing plates, and attending to guest needs as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service stations and dining areas throughout shifts
- Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate order delivery and resolve any issues promptly
- Provide excellent guest services by greeting guests warmly and addressing their inquiries with professionalism
- Assist in setting up tables and preparing the dining area before service begins
Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or related roles is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette and guest interaction
- Knowledge of food preparation, meal presentation, and basic kitchen operations is beneficial
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene practices within a restaurant or hotel environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods while maintaining a friendly demeanour
- Delivery driver experience or culinary background can be advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
- A positive attitude, team spirit, and a genuine enthusiasm for guest services are essential for success in this role
