Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various woodworking machinery to produce high-quality components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for fabrication and mechanical work, eager to contribute to a dynamic environment. The position is paid and suitable for those with relevant experience or a strong interest in woodworking and manufacturing processes.

Duties

Operate a range of woodworking machinery, including milling machines, to produce precise components according to specifications.
Utilise hand tools and tooling equipment for assembly, finishing, and adjustments.
Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage and movement of stock.
Conduct quality checks on finished products to meet company standards.
Assist in materials handling and organise workflow within the workshop or warehouse setting.
Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control purposes.

Experience

Proven experience in fabrication or machining, preferably within a woodworking or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of milling techniques, tooling setup, and material handling procedures.
Mechanical knowledge related to machinery operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and basic welding skills are advantageous.
Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Warehouse experience including materials organisation and assembly tasks is beneficial.
Basic understanding of mathematics relevant to measurements and calculations in manufacturing processes.

This role requires a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards within a busy workshop environment.

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
