Location: Rotherham & Surrounding Areas
Hours: Approximately 15–25 hours per week initially, with the opportunity to increase as the business grows.

About Nutty Mutts
Nutty Mutts is a premium dog walking, training, behaviour and grooming business based in Rotherham. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional care through small, carefully matched group walks, professional training and a personalised service for every dog.
We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and passionate self-employed dog walker to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely loves working with dogs and wants to build a long-term career within the canine industry.
The Role
This is much more than simply walking dogs. You’ll be responsible for safely collecting dogs from their homes, transporting them in your own vehicle, supervising enriching walks, building strong relationships with our clients and representing Nutty Mutts to the highest standard.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Collecting and transporting dogs safely using your own suitable vehicle.
- Walking small, carefully matched groups (maximum of 4 dogs).
- Providing solo walks where required.
- Monitoring dog behaviour, welfare and group dynamics.
- Sending updates and photos to owners after walks.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness and professionalism.
- Building positive relationships with both dogs and their owners.
Opportunities to Grow
As Nutty Mutts continues to grow, there may be opportunities to expand your role beyond dog walking.
Depending on your interests, skills and experience, there may be opportunities to become involved in:
- Dog training walks and, in time, supporting one-to-one training sessions.
- Dog grooming within our grooming salon.
- Pet sitting and home visits for our existing client base.
Previous experience in these areas isn’t essential, but we’d love to hear about any relevant qualifications, experience or future ambitions.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about dogs and committed to providing exceptional care.
- Calm, patient and confident handling a variety of breeds and personalities.
- Friendly, reliable and professional.
- Physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all weather.
- Organised, trustworthy and able to work independently.
- Keen to learn, develop and grow with the business.
Experience working with dogs is desirable, but attitude, reliability and a genuine passion for animal welfare are even more important.
Essential Requirements
- Self-employed (or willing to register as self-employed).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to a reliable, dog-friendly vehicle.
- Business-use vehicle insurance (or willingness to obtain it).
- A smartphone with internet access.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to pass a DBS check (or willing to obtain one).
What You’ll Receive
- Full support and ongoing mentoring.
- Flexible working hours.
- Competitive rates of pay with opportunities to increase as you gain experience and take on additional responsibilities.
- The opportunity to develop your skills in dog behaviour, training, grooming and pet care.
- The chance to become part of a friendly, supportive and growing local business that genuinely values both its clients and its team.
If you’re looking for more than just a dog walking job and want to build a rewarding career working with dogs, we’d love to hear from you.
Please tell us a little about yourself, your experience with dogs and why you’d like to join the Nutty Mutts team.
Pay: £13.00-£18.00 per hour
