We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Diabetes Specialist Dietitian to join our forward-thinking Diabetes Service. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your specialist skills within a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, evidence-based care across both primary and secondary care settings.
You will work as an independent practitioner delivering specialist dietary advice, structured education, and personalised care for people with type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes across Berkshire . The role offers excellent opportunities to expand your clinical expertise in areas such as carbohydrate counting, insulin management, and behaviour change. Deliver specialist dietetic assessment, care planning, and interventions for patients with diabetes across community and hospital settings
Provide evidence-based dietary advice for type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes
Plan and deliver structured education programmes for patients and healthcare professionals
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including consultants, nurses, GPs, and community staff
Support behaviour change through effective communication, counselling techniques, and patient-centred care
Develop and review patient information resources and education materials
Participate in audit, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives
Provide training and support to student dietitians and other healthcare professionals
Manage and prioritise your own caseload while maintaining accurate clinical records

This role offers the opportunity to work as a specialist dietitian delivering high-quality diabetes care across Berkshire. You will provide expert advice, education, and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals while contributing to service development and quality improvement.
You will act as a key member of the multidisciplinary diabetes team, helping to deliver integrated, patient-centred care aligned with national standards and guidelines.
The “must haves” for this role:
1. BSc (Hons) Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics (or equivalent) and HCPC registration
2. Experience in delivering diabetes care and education to patients in both individual and group settings
3. Strong clinical reasoning skills with the ability to assess, plan, and evaluate nutritional care for people with diabetes
4. Excellent communication and teaching skills, with the ability to support behaviour change and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
