Description
Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator
Do you want a role where your subject knowledge helps young people achieve qualifications they thought were out of reach? At Aspire in Arts we work with young people who have often had a hard time in mainstream education, and we give them a safe, creative place to learn and progress. We are looking for a Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator to lead Maths, English, qualifications and accreditation across our Alternative Provision and Intervention programmes in Nuneaton.
About the role
This is a practical, hands-on role combining direct delivery, learner assessment, qualification management and curriculum support. You will make sure young people achieve recognised outcomes and can clearly show their progress, working closely with our Post-16 and Intervention Coordinators so every learner has a meaningful progression pathway.
What you will be doing
- Carrying out baseline Maths and English assessments and building individual progression plans for learners across the provision
- Delivering English sessions and supporting learners working towards Functional Skills and other recognised qualifications
- Leading and coordinating the weekly Maths and English programme alongside external tutors
- Leading our accreditation framework across Arts Award, AQA Unit Award Scheme, Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Leadership Skills Foundation qualifications and Functional Skills
- Registering learners, managing qualification trackers and achievement records, and coordinating portfolios, evidence and submissions
- Liaising with awarding organisations and moderators, and making sure deadlines and requirements are met
- Coordinating exam entries, access arrangements and reasonable adjustments, and supporting our progression towards becoming an approved exam centre
- Supporting staff to understand qualification requirements and evidence collection, and completing lesson observations
- Delivering sessions directly with young people across both provisions
- Delivering and supporting our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme during the school holidays
What we are looking for
Essential
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths and English, with experience of teaching, tutoring or supporting learners
- A teaching qualification in Maths, English or a related subject
- A good understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
- Confident with learner assessment, data tracking and accreditation systems
- Able to deliver engaging sessions for young people with SEND, SEMH needs or previous disengagement from education
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Able to support colleagues on qualifications and evidence, and to give constructive feedback through observations
Desirable
- Knowledge of accreditation frameworks such as Arts Award, AQA, Duke of Edinburgh and Leadership Skills Foundation qualifications
- Understanding of examination processes, access arrangements and exam centre requirements
- An Internal Quality Assurance, assessment or verification qualification
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
