Full job description

We are a small accountancy practice based in Elsworth, looking for an educated and reliable individual to support our expanding team and client base.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in accounting and looking to start or continue training towards an AAT qualification.

The ideal start date for the role would be from September onwards, however we could be flexible if required.

Job Role:

The role involves supporting small to medium sized businesses, often owner managed across a variety of business sectors, with a range of accounting, financial performance and taxation services.

Key responsibilities will include:

Bookkeeping and data processing
VAT return preparation and filing
Payroll processing
Data management
Client onboarding

With training and development in:

Monthly management accounts preparation
Preparation of financial statements under UK GAAP
Preparation of corporation tax returns and supporting computations
Preparation of personal tax returns and supporting computations
Supporting clients through accounting software change
Regular, appropriate communication with clients through conversations, emails, letters and face to face meetings

Desirable Skills / Knowledge (training and support available):

A-Levels or equalivent
Interested in or training towards AAT qualification or similar
Competent user of basic computer software (e.g. Word and Excel)
Excellent Communication skills
Analytical and problem solving skills
This role calls for a confident and logical individual, comfortable working to deadlines and producing work to a high standard
Team player
Self-motivated with a desire to develop
