Housekeeper / Holiday Let Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated and detail-oriented housekeeper to look after two beautiful holiday let properties near Oban on behalf of a private individual. Guest experience is at the heart of this role - we want every arrival to feel genuinely considered, and the standard of the properties to reflect that.
This role is available in two forms. The core position is focused entirely on the holiday lets with optional laundry responsibilities. For the right person, there is also the option to extend into a broader housekeeping role that includes the principal’s main private residence.
CORE ROLE: HOLIDAY LET CHANGEOVERS
Primarily, we need support with managing changeovers at two holiday cottages (a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom property) every Saturday, approximately 9am to 3pm. This includes:
- Thorough cleaning of both properties between guest stays
- Making up beds and preparing rooms to a high standard
- Checking that everything is in good order - supplies stocked, appliances working, rectifying anything requiring attention, nothing overlooked
- Leaving each property genuinely welcoming and guest-ready
Attention to detail is everything in this role. We are not looking for someone who works through a checklist and considers the job done, we want someone who notices things, takes pride in their work, and goes the extra mile on their own initiative without being asked.
OPTIONAL ROLE: LAUNDRY
There is an additional 1 day per week available for laundry management. The properties have a brand new, purpose-built, very well-equipped laundry facility on site, which makes this straightforward. This is not a requirement - if it does not suit the successful candidate, laundry can be handled separately.
OPTIONAL EXTENDED ROLE: MAIN RESIDENCE
For the right candidate, there is also scope to extend this role to include the principal’s main private house. There are an additional 2 days per week available for this. The role would involve:
- General housekeeping and ensuring the house is running well day to day
- Changing beds and preparing guest rooms after visits
- Cleaning as required
This element is entirely optional and would suit someone looking for a more substantial position. The three elements - holiday lets, laundry and main house - can be discussed and agreed separately.
SPECIFICATION: ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will:
- Be experienced in housekeeping, property management or a similar role
- Be exceptionally thorough and proud of the standard of their work
- Be proactive - someone who spots what needs doing and does it without prompting
- Be trustworthy, discreet and comfortable working independently
- Be warm and personable - this is a friendly household and a relaxed working environment.
- Hold a full UK Driving Licence
SPECIFICATION: WORKING ENVIRONMENT
You will be supporting a busy private individual. The atmosphere is relaxed and you will largely work independently, but the standard expected is high. Discretion is important and respected.
SPECIFICATION: REMUNERATION, HOURS, LOCAATION & CONTRACT
- Pay is negotiable and will depend on experience and the scope of the role agreed. We are happy to have an open conversation about what the right arrangement looks like. - This is a permanent role. The successful candidate will begin with a three-month probationary period.
- The role is based in a rural location near Oban, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
