Full job description

Chandlery Manager / Store person

We’re looking for a reliable, organised and customer-focused Chandlery Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our chandlery.

Having recently taken over a well-established chandlery business, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the next chapter of its success. You’ll help build on an existing loyal customer base while contributing to the growth and development of the business.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining customer service, stock management, retail sales and order fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing the day-to-day operation of the chandlery.
Serving customers both in person and over the telephone.
Providing knowledgeable, friendly and professional customer service.
Taking customer orders accurately.
Picking, packing and dispatching orders.
Managing and maintaining stock levels.
Operating the EPOS system and processing sales.
Using computer systems for ordering, stock control and general administration.
Keeping the shop and stores organised, tidy and well presented.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience in retail, chandlery, warehouse or trade counter environments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Confidence speaking with customers face-to-face and over the phone.
Experience using computers and EPOS/till systems.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to get involved in all aspects of the business.
A full, valid UK driving licence.

Experience within the marine industry or a chandlery would be an advantage, but candidates with a strong customer service background and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.

Pay: £33,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
