Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic supply chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing procurement processes, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services essential for our operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to organisational efficiency while working within a collaborative environment that values innovation and professional development.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational (Day-to-Day):
- Maintain ERP accuracy, including BOM uploads and checks
- Raise and manage purchase orders (MRP, shortages, project buys, etc.)
- Support production planning (work orders and picking lists)
- Source factory consumables and materials
- Expedite supplier orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Process documentation (change notes, returns, concessions)
- Work with stores and production to manage stock levels
- Follow procedures and report any issues or risks
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers
- Negotiate pricing and terms, building strong supplier relationships
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g. RoHS, REACH)
- Monitor supply chain risks and implement contingency plans
- Support process improvements and KPI reporting
- Communicate order updates clearly to customers
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate professionally and proactively with customers
- Provide updates on orders and resolve queries efficiently
- Maintain accurate records and follow up where needed
- Use feedback to improve service and processes

Essential Skills & Experience
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic ERP/MRP knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Negotiation and supplier management capability
- Problem-solving mindset and proactive approach
- Willingness to support continuous improvement
Desirable Skills & Experience
- CIPS qualification (or working towards)
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or similar industry
- Understanding of supply chain processes and risk management

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
