Senior Policy, Strategy and Commissioning Manager (Public Health)

Salary: £51,356 - £54,494 per annum (Grade 10)

Hours: 36.66 per week

Location: Oldham Council Offices, The Spindles

Role Overview:

As a key member of our dynamic Public Health team, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives by building strong partnerships that shape the strategic direction of policies, strategies, and commissioning. Your work will be grounded in robust assessment of need and an evidence-based approach, aimed at addressing the root causes of health inequalities and improving life expectancy.

Key Responsibilities:

Public Health work areas may change to meet service requirements, but it is likely that this post holder will;

Work across systems to embed approaches that improve the mental health and wellbeing of Oldham residents across the life course through strategic partnership work and evidence based commissioned.

To drive the delivery of national, regional, and local strategies through collaborative action planning with key partners. This could include number of thematic areas across Public Health for example health literacy and health creation in older age.

Provide expert public health input into impactful programmes, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and oversee programme delivery with clear governance.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will:

Be able to work autonomously by reviewing evidence base and best practice to shape and influence service delivery in Oldham.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise and support senior officers, with confidence to challenge where appropriate based on evidence.
Have high level organisational skills to be able to develop and manage the provision of multiple programme areas.
