Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Minister of Religion specialising as a Youth Pastor to join our community. This role involves guiding and inspiring young individuals through spiritual teachings, mentorship, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents. The Youth Pastor will play a vital role in fostering a supportive environment that encourages personal growth, faith development, and community involvement.
Duties
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate religious teachings to youth groups, fostering spiritual growth and understanding.
- Organise and lead youth programmes, retreats, and special events to promote community participation.
- Provide mentorship and counselling to young individuals, supporting their emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
- Collaborate with parents, church staff, and community organisations to develop programmes that meet the needs of youth members.
- Facilitate workshops on topics such as leadership, values, and life skills to empower young people.
- Assist with organising fundraising activities to support youth initiatives and church projects.
- Offer guidance and support in hospice care situations involving young members or their families when appropriate.
- Promote inclusivity and diversity within youth programmes, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants.
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching or mentoring within a religious or community setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate young people.
- Strong communication skills suitable for engaging diverse age groups and backgrounds.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or pastoral roles.
- Knowledge of hospice care principles is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is important.
- Experience in organising fundraising events or community outreach programmes is desirable. Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
